Which consulate covers this postcode?

Italy maintains three consulates in the UK. Citizenship and passport matters route through the consulate that holds jurisdiction over the registered address — not the consulate the applicant prefers, and not the consulate nearest by distance. The lookup below returns the right one for any UK postcode, alongside a short editorial note on the operational character of that office.

The lookup uses the postcode area only (the alphabetic prefix before the first digit). Full postcodes are accepted but only the area is read.

The three consulates at a glance

London

The largest of the three by volume. Handles the bulk of UK descent applications, with all the operational pressure that implies. Correspondence routes through the official website rather than direct contact.

Manchester

A tight, appointment-only operation with high volume relative to its size. Triage is fast; correspondence stays brief; pre-empting clarification questions tends to help.

Edinburgh

Routes citizenship work by direct correspondence rather than through the booking system used by the other two. Honorary consuls handle some of the regional load.

Source and method

Postcode-to-consulate mapping derived from the published jurisdictional coverage of each consulate (conslondra.esteri.it, consmanchester.esteri.it, consedimburgo.esteri.it). The lookup uses the alphabetic postcode area only — for example, the area of EC4A 4BL is “EC”. Operational character notes are editorial. Reviewed monthly; the consulates' own websites are always more current than this snapshot.
