Tool · Jurisdiction

Which consulate covers this postcode?

Italy maintains three consulates in the UK. Citizenship and passport matters route through the consulate that holds jurisdiction over the registered address, not the consulate the applicant prefers, and not the consulate nearest by distance. The lookup below returns the right one for any UK postcode, alongside a short editorial note on the operational character of that office.

The first half on its own is enough. Jurisdiction is published by county, not by postcode, so this resolves the postcode area to a county list and then to the post that holds it. Where an area crosses a boundary between two posts, it says so rather than picking one.

The three posts

London

The largest of the three by volume, and the post that carries the bulk of UK descent work. Correspondence routes through the official site rather than direct contact.

conslondra.esteri.it

Manchester

Appointment-only, with high volume relative to its size. Its translation policy has never appeared on its website, so anything stated about Manchester translations is inference.

consmanchester.esteri.it

Edinburgh

Certifies translations only of certificates issued in Italy, Scotland or Northern Ireland. Visa work is redirected to London.

consedimburgo.esteri.it

Source and method

Postcode-to-consulate mapping derived from the published jurisdictional coverage of each consulate (conslondra.esteri.it, consmanchester.esteri.it, consedimburgo.esteri.it). The lookup uses the alphabetic postcode area only, for example, the area of EC4A 4BL is “EC”. Operational character notes are editorial. Reviewed monthly; the consulates' own websites are always more current than this snapshot.
